Welcome to the once home of The Karaoke PitStop Internet Magazine (KPS) that serviced the DFW Metroplex of Texas for Karaoke News, Karaoke Show Locations, and Everything Karaoke.  This site once held a vast wealth of knowledge of the DFW Karaoke Community available free of charge to singers, karaoke hosts, and the general reader.  We were once able to bring readers this information free of charge courtesy of our wonderful sponsors.  The Karaoke PitStop Internet Magazine was privately owned and operated and all rights are still reserved by the owner.  Karaoke PitStop was family safe, although KPS did not support minors unattended surfing the web without parental guidance.  The Karaoke PitStop Internet Magazine and all the supporting PitCrew Volunteers held an oath of Public Media Ethics and Representation.  This was our pledge to our readers.  We were here solely to provide news and information for enjoyment and the promotion of music and singing daily.  Sadly, the market has changed blowing a different wind and like so many other things in life, The Karaoke PitStop Magazine, now has to bend to that force.

In 98/99 a group of friends sat down at a table and formed the 1st amateur sports talk show online in the DFW area. Since this group of unusual misfits had so much spinning around in their minds, it quickly expanded. By 1999 Get Smashed Radio Network was up & running hosting several venues of local music entertainment. A fun-loving crass talk show, The LD & Mike Show, attempted to bring Howard Stern-like situations to laughable extremes. The Karaoke PitStop made its debut strictly as a weekly streaming show. The Lyric Lounge featured live local artists all over the DFW area in different genres of music. Dann's Big Show prickled the solitary mind of eccentric genus. The Round Table featured computer tricks of the trade and listed many new tools & toys coming on the scene. 108.1 had several different DJ shows of streaming music within specific genres. GSRB had grown into a demanding schedule for all that had a stake in it. Sadly, this drove the raving lunatics into a spinning ball with fur flying and it disbanded in March of 2001. However, since the disbanding each has taken their strong points and filtered them into different projects. Susan Werth took the Karaoke PitStop becoming a full Internet Magazine. DJ LD Rizzo took the DJ shows and formed Radio-XTC. Mike Permenter, Dann Smith, & Jerry Hayes took the Lyric Lounge and talk show forming 2 different projects, one on Musicians.net (no longer available) and now Renegade Radio. Each new project resembles the ideas developed during GSRB, but they have expanded and grown into the competitive entertainment market online. Hopefully through the success of each venue the friends will find each other again.

The Karaoke PitStop Internet Magazine first hit the web in July 2001.  Wishing to duplicate the success it had as a streaming audio show on GSRB, but without any funding, it was decided to format a text based website hoping to raise revenue to resume the streaming portion.  Beginning with a show guide of local shows, new features were added weekly.  PitCrew volunteers joined go bringing fresh ideas to this ever growing site and publication. Karaoke PitStop added the Singers Choice Awards as an annual event allowing karaoke goers to nominate and vote their favorites in an array of categories recognizing karaoke hosts, companies, locations, and everything it takes to produce karaoke and then awarding a year's best winner.  in 2002 Karaoke PitStop hosted CBS Star Search Auditions by invitation only submitted by local karaoke hosts and put 100 singers in front of their paneled casting agents.  Karaoke PitStop joined many causes and benefits during the seven year rein aiding countless families across DFW.  Karaoke PitStop was a driving force in founding the DFW KJ Alliance trying to bring independent companies together in the industry to support each other and keep karaoke a main focus for weekly entertainment.  Karaoke PitStop was the KJ's best friend in announcing weekly events and promoting the shows.  It was also the singer's guide to what was going on in the karaoke community.
